CEU Disclaimer

To maintain the Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) credential, you must earn a total of 45 continuing education (CE) hours every 3 years:

  • 9 hours of Safety & Sanitation [effective June 1, 2019] +

  • 1 hour in Professional Ethics +

  • 35 hours of any General Education Topic

Our continuing education courses, ONLY, have been approved for fulfilling the continuing education requirements of the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM) - not CDM practice tests.

The CBDM made a policy change in January 2019 requiring CDM, CFPPs to meet all CE requirements (45 total  continuing education hours, including 9 Sanitation/Safety CE hours and 1 Professional Ethics CE hour) on May 31 of the last year of their 3-year recertification period. https://www.cbdmonline.org/ce-audit/ce-audit-faq

Since continuing education is only awarded to programs related to the nutrition and foodservice industry, this requirement guarantees that you will continue updating your professional skills throughout your career and demonstrates your commitment to continued competence. Read more about maintaining your credential on the Certifying Board of Dietary Managers (CBDM) website at www.CBDMonline.org.

Long Term Care (LTC) Regulations:

Unless you have a full time RD on staff at your LTC facility, a CDM must be present.
